Veronica "Fox" Grijalva

Cultural Event Coordinator and Artist

Veronica “Fox” Grijalva is born and raised in this city, being a first-generation American herself. The nickname of Fox is just something that stuck from high school, and eventually became the name she was known as throughout her career.

The collection “Poder Es Poder” by Fox is an expression of the unique border town, the culture that is so familiar in El Paso. The images painted are formed from prayer and meditation, hypnagological images, and influences from Art Nouveau artist from the Czech Republic, Alphonse Mucha (1860 - 1939).

The town of El Paso, Tx, USA is a border town between the United States and Mexico. What makes our border town different from others is that not only are we on a border, but that border is split into what has been considered one of the safets cities in the US, and what was once considered the most dangerous city in the world, at one point. It’s populated by first generation-Americans, military population, first-time university students, and so many different cultures.
